There has been so much happen since last I wrote. Some of the time I have felt like I was moving about in a dream world. We have worked so hard. We were almost too numb to move. Elvin died on the Savior's birthday. 6 of April 1972. Approximately 11:45 pm Salt Lake time. All the brothers and sisters and companions attended his funeral. Clell, Ann, Janet, Drew, Lynn, Janette, Leslie and Zenda drove down in two cars. Cal and Ruby with son David came in their car. The weather was fine going down to Sacramento, but was really stormy on the return trip. The funeral went fine. Among those taking part was Mayo Zabriskie, who spoke of days gone by and his association with Elvin and our family. It is so soul stirring for close and loved ones to die. We lost Mom 13 July 1971 and then "son #2 the following 6 April 1972. (Let us hope for respite for a while). We were told that cancer had taken over completely on Elvin's liver and lungs, and that in that order. He thought he had eighteen months left! While we were at his home visiting with him he told us that he had that long, but I was concerned about him, and felt he would do well if he lived eighteen days. He lived only about a week longer. Grandmother Confederate America Kenner Peterson died from cancer of the liver also. I hear Leone is with her daughter Carolyn who lives in Bountiful. I have been told she has been here two weeks.
