Well now, the work on the kitchen is coming along a little faster. We had to get a licensed electrician to do all the wiring over again. It had been done far below the county standards so had to be redone. There had never been a doorbell, so there had to be one installed, Sister Ida Burrows (President of the Union 4th ward relief society, Our ward) was the first person to ring it. It cost us $427.00 to have the electric job done. Les is going on with the rest of the kitchen, which had an outside wall moved out 2 feet. He is installing new cabinets and a dishwasher, as well as an electric grill called Jenn-air; it will be great to have a kitchen I can enjoy having roominess in. It seems like it is taking forever.
We have the fryers ready to dress out and freeze, we’ve given all the kids a chance to help for some fryer for their table, but they are all too busy to come.
We have lost another familiar face, never to see again in this life We, Leslie and I attended the viewing of Leone’s mother, Vera Bowden. (Leone-Elvin’s wife) last Sunday evening July 9, 1972. She had died of a heart ailment. We felt sorrow for Leone having lost both husband and Mother in a little over three months.
I went back to see the new doctor (having lost Dr. Wm Bennion of blood disease) Vincent, Thursday last. He told me I did have a murmur in my heart. He was a little encouraging about my diabetes, however, and very discouraging about my over weight!
Aunt Lil writes that Audrie’s oldest grandchild is suffering from acute leukemia. He is eleven years old. Aunt Lil seems to be getting along pretty good, as well as advancing in years. She is in her 80’s. I hate to see her leave us, also Leslie’s Aunt Celia, who is also in her 80’s.
Orin, Odessa, and David, their son are having their farewell meeting tonight. They are going to Australia and Germany in that order, to fill missions.
Art class will soon end for this season. It will resume again the first Thursday after Labor Day in Sept. I’ve just finished my 8th year. I will begin my 9th in Sept.
We attended the Clawson reunion “Moses Clawson” dinner, and talent show last night. Les put the dog (baby) through her tricks, and Claire played the piano for Larry and Sue to sing. It was utterly beautiful. I couldn't’t help shedding tears. ( I was not the only one who did either) They sang, “Tell Me.”
Well hope my back will get well soon. It has muscle spasms that almost sends me to my knees.
